Captured off the Pacific coast of Guatemala in 2024, this sailfish erupted from the water in a display of speed, power, and precision. For a brief moment, gravity seemed optional as the fish launched skyward before crashing back into the blue.

Guatemala is home to one of the world’s greatest sailfish fisheries, where days can produce more shots at billfish than most anglers see in a lifetime. This image freezes one of those unforgettable moments when a creature built for the ocean briefly takes to the air.
